Basic Game Rules
Understanding the fundamental rules of Kho Kho for fair and competitive play
Team Composition
Each team consists of 12 players (9 on field, 3 substitutes)
Only 9 players are allowed on the field at any time
Substitutions can be made during breaks or timeouts
Each team must have a designated captain
Game Duration
Total match duration: 18 minutes (9 minutes per side)
Half-time break: 2 minutes
Timeouts: 1 timeout per team per half
Clock stops only during timeouts and injuries
Playing Field & Boundaries
Field dimensions: 29m × 16m (standard Kho Kho court)
Boundary lines must be clearly marked and visible
Central lane: 30cm wide running through the field
Cross lanes: 16m long perpendicular to central lane
Free zone: 1.5m around the entire field
Surface must be flat, non-slippery, and safe for running
Tournament Guidelines

Eligibility Criteria
Open to all PBEL City residents and their families
Age groups: Under-16, Under-18, and Open category
Teams must represent their respective towers
Valid medical clearance required for all participants
Parental consent required for participants under 18
Registration Process
Registration opens 30 days before tournament
Complete team registration with all player details
Submit medical certificates and consent forms
Registration fee: ₹500 per team
Late registration may incur additional charges
Code of Conduct
Fair Play Principles
Respect opponents, officials, and spectators
Accept referee decisions without argument
No unsportsmanlike behavior or foul language
Disciplinary Actions
Yellow card: Warning for minor violations
Red card: Immediate disqualification from match
Serious violations may result in tournament ban
